The List

The list is open, and I'll be building according to the orders I receive. The next available F5 should be ready around March 2026, and that batch price is set at $13,000. The next available A5 should be ready around August 2026, and that batch price is set at $7000. I'll have custom Calton cases available for an additional $1000, if you're interested.

I am making a some changes with hardware & cases. Starting now, I'm making Waverly tuners my standard issue. For tailpieces, you'll have the option of a traditional stamped tailpiece hand engraved by Tim Wells, or a Gilchrist/Northfield tailpiece machine engraved. All the cases will be the Bobelock fiberglass arrow cases, unless you're interested in a $1000 upgrade to a custom Calton.

As far as my builds go, I'm targeting the aesthetics of the Lloyd Loar era mandolins with a few minor variations. The shapes of my fretboards, pickguards, and A5 headstocks are my own design. I'm very well stocked with air dried and well seasoned Sitka, Engelmann, and Adirondack Spruces. I'm also sitting on a great supply of Western Big Leaf and Eastern Sugar & Red Maples. I do have some other species that are prime candidates for tops & backs, and if you're interested we'll talk. I'm asking for a $1000 deposit to hold a spot on the list with the balance due upon completion. If you're interested in talking shop, give me a shout! Thanks!

For Sale

F5 #99 from 2023 (Like New)

I'm selling this one for a friend.  Adirondack (red) spruce blacktop, Birdseye maple all around, radius on the fretboard, EVO fret wire, 1 1/8" at the nut, comfy rounded "V" neck profile, Rubner tuners, Cumberland Acoustic bridge, hand engraved Prucha tailpiece, triple & side bound,  brushed oil varnish finish with French polished top coat, and comes with a white, fiberglass Superior case. Very punchy, full spectrum of tone, strong all down the neck. Been playing it quite a bit this past year. Holds up great next to a banjo, and has all the stuff. Minimal wear, and pretty much in new condition. $11,500 (OBO) + shipping. Thanks!
Here's a little clip of what she sounds like. I had the pickguard off for an adjustment at the time.

And offerings elsewhere online at the moment:  #22 from 2018 & #91 from 2023.
