The List
The list is open, and I'll be alternating between A5 & F5 batches again. As of September 2026, I'm working on an A5 batch that is all spoken for. Hoping to hit the finish line with them in early November this year. The following F5 batch has spots available. That batch price is $13,000, and I'm hoping to have them ready by April 2027. In April 2027, I'll start another A5 batch, and my price there will be $7000.
I made some changes with hardware & cases. Waverly tuners are now my standard issue. For tailpieces, there are two options: I have traditional stamped tailpieces made by Prucha and hand engraved by Tim Wells, and the Gilchrist/Northfield collaboration tailpieces machine engraved. All the cases will be the Bobelock fiberglass arrow cases, unless you're interested in a $1000 upgrade to a custom Calton.
As far as my builds go, I'm targeting the aesthetics of the Lloyd Loar era mandolins with a few minor variations. The shapes of my fretboards, pickguards, and A5 headstocks are my own design. I'm very well stocked with air dried and well seasoned Sitka, Engelmann, and Adirondack Spruces. I'm also sitting on a great supply of Western Big Leaf and Eastern Sugar & Red Maples. I do have some other species that are prime candidates for tops & backs, and if you're interested we'll talk. I'm asking for a $1000 deposit to hold a spot on the list with the balance due upon completion. If you're interested in talking shop, give me a shout! Thanks!
